Ahmedabad The Ahmedabad Zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested two persons with 20 kg charas, which they had got from the Valley.

Yusuf Vohra, a resident of Ahmedabad, and his associate, Faroq Vohra, a resident of Dakor, were intercepted by the NCB sleuths near Ratanpur checkpost in Sabarkahtha district in the early hours of Sunday.

The contraband had been concealed in specially-designed cavities under a Ceilo car with a Gujarat registration number plate.

“The contraband had been hidden in a petrol car fitted with a CNG cylinder. We recovered six packets of the contraband stuffed inside the cylinder cavity,” NCB, Zonal Director, Ayush Mani Tiwari said.

NCB officials said, “Yusuf was earlier arrested in 1999 for smuggling contraband and was convicted for the crime. He had jumped parole in 2006 and has been absconding since then, they added.A case has been registered and further investigations are on,” the police said.
