Two injured in separate accidents

Ludhiana, February 22 One person was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding bus near the traffic lights at Bhai Wala Chowk on Friday afternoon. The bus driver fled leaving behing his vehicle. Half an hour later, another person was injured at the same spot when he was hit by a motorcycle. Both the injured have been admitted to Civil Hospital.

Around 3.30 pm, 60-year-old Amar Nath was on his scooter waiting to cross the road at the Bhai Wala Chowk when he was hit by a private bus. A traffic constable was manning the traffic. Amar Nath works as a private contractor and is a resident of Islam Ganj colony.

The bus driver fled. When an ambulance failed to reach the spot, Amar Nath was taken to Civil Hospital in an autorickshaw. His condition is stated to be critical.

Police are learnt to have initiated the process to register a case against the absconding bus driver.

After around half an hour, a speeding motorcycle hit a cyclist, Arjun. The motorcyclist fled from the spot. Arjun was rushed to the DMC hospital. He works in the Municpal Corporation.
