New Delhi Two persons died in two separate accidents — one by a Blueline bus and the other by a DTC bus. In the first, a 21-year-old man was crushed by a speeding Blueline bus which was plying on route number 578 (Najafgarh to Safdarjung) in the Najafgarh area of Southwest district.

According to the police, the accident took place around 9 am. “The deceased, identified as Yogender Sharma, was walking on the road when the bus hit him from behind. The impact was such that he fell on the road and received severe head and body injuries. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead,” on arrival said a police official. The driver of the bus fled the spot immediately after the accident.

In the second accident, a 40-year-old priest was killed when brakes of a DTC bus reportedly failed and the driver lost control and ran over him in Sarai Rohilla area of North district on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the DTC bus on route number 234 (Nangloi to Nand Nagri) lost control and rammed three or four vehicles before crushing the victim under its wheels. Police said the deceased has been identified as Vinod Parikh.
