Two new management courses to cater to industry’s needs

Ahmedabad, February 4 With management education finding a growing relevance in the industry, two of the premiere institutes of Ahmedabad launched a couple of management programmes here on Monday.

While the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) has announced a new 15-month executive PG Diploma in the field of communication management called the Executive Post-Graduate Programme in Communication Management (PGPCMX), the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI) has come out with post-graduate programme in Corporate Entrepreneurship and Management for the officers of a reputed industrial house.

According to MICA sources, their programme is designed to suit the requirement of the industry which needs qualified professionals at middle and senior levels. Dr Hemant Trivedi, chairperson, PGPCMX, MICA, said the course is unique in its approach and focuses on exciting and upcoming industry sectors like retail, design, media, events and entertainment.

The 15-month course, which would include a three-month industry internship and a global immersion programme, targets working professionals to add value to their careers in a short time. According to the institute, the criteria for joining the course will entail work experience of three to five years, along with a CAT, XAT or GMAT score of 2006/2007.

The EDI has launched the Post Graduate Programme in Corporate Entrepreneurship and Management for executives and managers of Zydus Cadilla.

The programme, of 18-month duration, is designed to train a group of 150 officers of the company in the area of corporate entrepreneurship and management.
