Surat, January 2 Two embroidery unit workers returning home after watching a film at a video theatre at Varachha were robbed of Rs 12,000 by four youths near the Hyundai showroom on Tuesday night.

According to police, Feroz Pathan and Raju Patel, both residents of Vasant Bhikha Wadi at Lambe Hanuman Raod, were accosted by four youths near the Hyundai showroom circle, who started quarrelling with the two.

The victims tried to retaliate, when one of the miscreants pulled out a knife, threatening them to hand over all cash and valuables in their possession.

Feroz finally contacted Varachha Police and lodged a theft complaint. According to officials, the robbers might be residents of the nearby slum areas. The police have rounded up several youths from the slum, who are now being interrogated.
