Two teachers suspended for submitting fake degrees

Chandigarh, March 7 The UT Education department has issued orders for suspension of two teachers on charges of possessing fake degrees. Director Public Instructions (Schools) S K Setia said that the teachers — Pafna of Government Senior Secondary School, Karsan, and Sukhjinder Pal Kaur, a JBT teacher of Government High School, have been suspended.

Sources said Pafna has got her degree from Maithili Uni Darbanga in 1984. Sukhjinder Pal Kaur has done JBT from Gandhi Hindi Vidhyapeeth University, Allahabad. Setia said that both the degrees were not recognised as per the circular of UGC and 15 days time had been given to these two teachers to prove their degrees.

He added that both of them could not give any satisfactory answer.
