Two years imprisonment for MCOCA accused Ketkar

Judicial magistrate (first class) Jyoti Purkar on Wednesday sentenced Rajendra Ketkar (48), a resident of Karad, to two years’ simple imprisonment. He had fled from the hospital when Karad police arrested him. Police in the MCOCA case had arrested convict Ketkar on June 9, 2003. He had shifted to a city-based private hospital for treatment. He fled from the hospital on June 11, 2003 when four cops were on duty to prevent his escape.

Judicial magistrate (first class) Prashant Kale on October 21, 2008, sentenced three months’ simple imprisonment to the four cops identified as Prakash Chaskar, Ghanasham Waghole, Maruti Chavan and Raghunath Pawar. Public prosecutor Shilpa Mahtekar argued in court that Bund Garden police has arrested Ketkar on June 28, 2003 and released on bail after a year. ens
