Vadodara A corporate cricket tournament has been organised at the IPCL cricket ground on January 31 and February 1, 2009. Top executives of some of the big corporate giants like Reliance, GSFC, L&T, Linde Engineering and Kemrock, and Diamond Cables will be participating in this two-day tournament.

Players who have participated in an international or even a national or a Ranji Trophy match will not be allowed to take part in the tournament. The game will have six overs per innings and the tournament will be played between 16 teams.

Besides, it has been made mandatory for each team to have at least one female player. The female player will open the innings and face the first six balls at the start of each innings bowled by a female player of the opposite team.

Provision has also been made to allow the team to call back the female player after she has faced the first six balls.

The teams have been divided into four groups and there will be a total of 27 matches till the finals. The mayor and the police commissioner have also been invited to participate in the cricket match.
