The Left Front ministry will induct two more ministers, one from the CPM and another from its ally RSP, on Tuesday. The two new ministers of state, Soumendra Nath Bera of CPM and Dasarat Tirkey of the RSP, would be sworn in by Governor M K Narayanan on April 6, Chief Secretary Asok Mohan Chakraborty said today. CPM sources said Bera, an MLA from Purshura in Hooghly district who teaches journalism at the Calcutta University, would assist the CM in information and cultural affairs ministry headed by the latter.
Tirkey, an MLA from Kumargram in Jalpaiguri district, had been a minister of state earlier. Senior RSP leader and PWD Minister Kshiti Goswami said Tirkey would be inducted as am MoS in his ministry. With the expansion, the strength of the ministry would now stand at 45, said a party official.
