Udhyog 2008 begins tomorrow

Surat, January 2 The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has organised a five-day Udhyog 2008 mega event starting January 4 at the Vanita Vishram ground here.

SGCCI chamber president Arvind Kapadia said different experts from fields as diverse as textile machinery, garments, yarns, processing engineering, tourism, automobiles, plastic, fire and safety, and electrical appliances, would showcase their products.

This is the sixth mega industrial exhibition, which the SGCCI has started and is conducting after every two years. In an areas spanning 1.25 lakh sq ft area at the Vanita Vishram ground, two AC domes have been prepared for the representatives from the corporate and the small industries sector.

"Over 450 stalls have been booked in the hall. Along with the exhibition, we will also conduct seminars each day on different topics. The main motto of organising such mega events is to educate the businessmen and industrialists with latest developments in their fields," said Kapadia.

He said the guest of honour at this mega event would be Dong Yern Kim, Counsel General, Republic of Korea, while the Special Guest on the occasion would be Mrs Paru Jaykrishna.

Corporate representatives from all over Gujarat and consulates from countries like Australia, Korea, Taiwan and Mexico would participate in this mega event, he added.
