UGC hikes scholarships for research fellows is quite fine. What about the scholars across the country who are studying in central and state universities? Students studying in state universities are very far from the scholarship... they wont get a single rupee. Some of the scholars are not in position to access stationery bill from the universities. When it come to central universities, the meager amount is not all sufficient to meet the mess bill and room rent on campus programmes. The government must not neglect the central universities (most premier central universities. The central universities are the knowledge productive centres and if the students are not provided with the minimum facilities and scholarship, then the out put which comes from the the institutes would be poor.
