Ludhiana, January 8 Umang Singh, a city resident, was conferred with the title of Mrs Ludhiana 2008, in a ceremony held at Guru Nanak Dev Bhavan, last evening. Umang was chosen among 20 contestants who displayed their talent in various rounds.

However, there was some delay in the final decision, which could be announced only after the controversy over the selection of the final round was resolved. The organisers, on the other hand, denied there was a delay due to any controversy.

The 20 contestants first participated in the bridal round and western round, after which 13 contestants were shortlisted for the next round.

Among others who bagged the various prizes included Surbhi Sharma, who was crowned Mrs Photogenic; Simarpreet who was crowned Mrs Beautiful Hair; Ishita who bagged the Mrs Beautiful Skin title, and Rajni Joshi, who was adjudged Best Personality.

The show was compered by Satinder Satti. The judges on the occasion were Inderjit Nikku, Ravinder Ranguwal, Tejwant Kittu and Dr Raman Sodhi.
