Pune In an ex-parte interim order, a Judicial Magistrate First Class court has granted Rs 20,000 as monthly maintainence to a woman who has filed a domestic violence case under the Domestic Violenc Act against her Non Resident Indian (NRI) husband, an IT professional, alleging charges of erectile dysfuntion.

The court has also siezed the husband's bank account and prohibited him from disposing off his property -- including leasing it off -- in any manner. The interim order was passed on February 21. As it was an ex-parte order, the husband was not represented.

In her application, the complainant Priya Kulkarni has said that Nikhil Kulkarni, her husband, married her under false pretences. At the time of marriage it was not revealed that he was under severe medication and that he was medically unfit to consumate the marraige.

Priya has said that when she brought up the subject of medical treatment for her husband, she was mentally and physically ill-treated by her inlaws and her husband.

She has also claimed in her application that within five weeks of her co-habitation in Baltimore with her husband, she was deported back to India. In her application, Priya has claimed a compensation of Rs 1 crore, maintainence of Rs 1.5 lakh per month and posession of the 3BHK luxurious flat in Sukalyan Building in Kothrud. She has said that her in-laws have immovable properties and real estates in Baltimore, Washington DC and have huge investments in Bank of America and in US savings bonds.
