New Delhi A 31-year-old unemployed engineer was found dead in his North Delhi residence on Friday. The police said the body of the deceased, Govind Joshi, was found in a decomposed state and he had died at least five days ago.

According to police officers, Joshi was a B Tech graduate and was unemployed. His body was found after the police broke open the door of his flat. His father, Vishambhar Joshi, a retired official of the Defence Research and Development Organisation, informed the police that his son was not opening the door of his house and a foul smell was coming from inside. A senior police officer said, “The door was locked from inside. We broke it open and found Govind’s body on the bed. It was in a highly decomposed state.”

The cause of death has not been ascertained. The police said they were waiting for the autopsy report. The deceased did not leave a suicide note.

Govind had graduated from a Ghaziabad-based institute and had been unemployed for the past few months. He was reported depressed due to his unemployment.
