Unity Academy beat Nawab Club

Lucknow, January 1 A 78-run third wicket partnership between M Raza (34 not out) and Iftikhar Hussain (47 not out) and a three wicket haul by Amir Zaidi went a long way as Unity Academy defeated Nawab Cricket Club by eight wickets in their league match of the Dr Akhilesh Das Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Das Stadium here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Nawab Cricket Club scored 101 runs losing nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Unity Academy romped home after attaining the set mark in 15.4 overs with eight wickets to spare.

Unity Academy: 103 for two in 15.4 overs (Irfan Hussain 47 not out, M Raza 34; Satendra Singh 1 for 17, Faiz Ali Zaidi 1 for 34).

Vinay shines

An unbeaten 76 run knock by Vinay Singh helped Unique Sporting in defeating Panther’s Academy by 34 runs in their league match of the Dr Akhilesh Das Cricket Tournament here on Tuesday. Vinay’s 76 resulted off 58 balls which included nine hits to the fence. The highlight of the Panther’s Academy innings was an unbeaten 54 run contribution by opener Sachin Srivastava.

Unique Sporting: 136 four four in 20 overs (Vinay Singh 76 not out,Parag Agarwal 31; Abhas Vohra 2 for 15,Harish 1 for 20, Hari Om Choudhary 1 for 20);
