Lucknow With the help of students of the Arts College and Lucknow University, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) plans to beautify undeveloped parks with unused stones from under-construction development projects in the city.

In this connection, a preliminary discussion was held between the officials of the LDA and the Arts College on Tuesday. A formal meeting will be held at the LDA office on Thursday.

LDA Vice-Chairman Mukesh Kumar Meshram said the aim was to take the help of arts and architecture students to beautify undeveloped parks with stones and marbles left as debris in under-construction projects.

Principal of the Arts College, P Rajeevnayan, said: “I have spoken to the LDA vice-chairman. I have also proposed to develop a sculpture garden by using unused stones.” He added that Bhopal Development Authority has developed two such sculpture gardens by using split stones. “When stones are cut to be uses in sculpture, some parts of split stones remain unused. Usually, such split stones go waste,” he said.

If everything falls in place, students of arts and architecture could use their skills to beautify the city, the principal added.
