Pune, March 3 Students of ‘earn and learn’ scheme in the University of Pune (UoP) have intensified their agitation against Dr Sambhaji Pathare, the director of the scheme. Students are not happy with the behaviour of the director and are demanding his resignation. Former high court judge B G Kolse-Patil on Monday supported the agitation.

There are 712 UoP students registered under the scheme. “There is a growing discomfort among students as the director misbehaves with us. His language is aggressive and he treats students as if they are servants,” complained one student. The students have sent a letter to the UoP vice-chancellor regarding the issue. “We don’t want Pathare to continue in the director’s post,” they said.

Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts to contact him, Pathare was not available for comment.
