UP win in All India Indira Gandhi cricket opener

Lucknow, January 2 Hosts Uttar Pradesh defeated Delhi by four runs in the opening encounter of the All India Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Memorial Cricket Tournament at KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium, Lucknow on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the tournament was inaugurated by CGM, SBI Lucknow Shiv Kumar.

In the other match of the same tourney played at Sports College, MP beat West Bengal by 21 runs.

Brief Scores:(at KD Singh `Babu’ Stadium)-

Uttar Pradesh: 168 for six in 35 overs ( Neetu Singh 30, Vaishali Tyagi 26, Neetu Singh 25, Zeenat Kausar 16, Khusboo Sharma 14 not out, Komal Hora 11; Nidhi Sethi 3 for 25, Neha Chopra 1 for 13);

Delhi: 164 for seven in 35 overs ( Bharti Rathi 40, Meenu Choudhary 39, Neha Chopra 13, Pooja Rawat 12; Farhat Jaha 2 for 28, Khusboo Sharma 1 for 17);

(at Sports College)-

MP: 92 for six in 20 overs ( Ranu Sharma 28, Kanak 18; Rina Majumdar 3 for 16);

West Bengal: 71 for six in 21 overs ( Sujata Sinha 17, Jhuma Naskar 17, Kakali 12; Kamni Bakshi 2 for 8).
