Lucknow, January 1 Rampur, around 30 kilometers from Moradabad, never figured prominently on the international terror map. In recent months, however, there have been a number of indications pointing to the possibility of Rampur, which has a large Muslim base, being the next major target of terrorists.

Locals say that last month Walliullah, accused in a blast case, was being taken to court in Bareilly, when he complained of chest pain.

However, doctors at the local hospital found him perfectly fit.

Walliullah’s strange act roused suspicion and the vernacular press even reported the incident.

District officials, while refusing to comment on the episode, said the Intelligence Bureau had information about an impending attack on the CRPF camp in Rampur.

Officials added that intelligence inputs state that the Government Press and certain other areas were also high on the hit-list of radical groups.

CRPF officials said while arrangements were being made for a possible attack but another camp in Rampur, Uri in Kashmir seemed a more probable target.
