After meeting Beri, Varun also visited the house of the slain former BJP minister Brahmdutt Dwivedi before leaving for Delhi.
During his meeting with Beri, the first-time MP is believed to have asked for support in the light of fresh developments in the case relating to his hate speech CD.
A few days ago, former RSS spokesperson M G Vaidya had said the BJP should give up “Varun-style” Hindutva.
Surrounded by mediapersons as he was coming out of Dwivedi’s residence, Varun was cautious. “I do not want to say anything. I was here on a personal visit and will be leaving soon.”
Varun was recently in the news when many of his party’s senior leaders, during a meeting of the national executive, blamed his controversial speech for the saffron party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, which they said drove away Muslim voters.
