Vadodara The economic meltdown can also translate into an opportunity for entrepreneurs.

This message was conveyed at a seminar organised by the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday.

The seminar on ‘Wealth creation during times of recession’ provided insights into how wealth can be created. Speakers compared the China model of development during recession.

“The Chinese model is based on two principles — danger and opportunity. It depends on the individual to look at it as an opportunity or danger. China has been choosing opportunity to accelerate and come out of recession.

The same model can be replicated in India as well to create wealth for the people affected by the slowdown,” said Jyotsna Bhatnagar, Resident Editor (Gujarat), The Financial Express.

China’s development in the past decade shows that in the face of major crises, the country always chose to accelerate reforms and consolidate its economic foundation, she said.
