Yoga for peace
Kangana Ranaut has found the ultimate way to stay grounded — yoga. The petite actor is no stranger to controversy — what with umpteen stand-offs with her directors and co-stars and her much-publicised love affairs. But she believes that it is yoga that helps her maintain the discipline that she needs in her life. She started training with her guru Surya Narayan four years ago when she was a beginner in the industry and she strongly believes that it was the best decision she made in her life. “I’ve discovered, harnessed and built much greater physical and mental strength through this practice, which is essential to survive the physical strain of shooting long hours and the emotional rigour that acting and being a part of the industry demands,” she says.

Lucky charm
TISCA Chopra seems to be a favourite with debutant directors. First Aamir Khan cast her in his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par and now she’s appearing in Nandita Das’ first venture as a director — Firaaq. When asked about this coincidence, Tisca laughs and says, “I hope I’m lucky for them.” Well, she was lucky for Aamir; let’s hope that charm works for Nandita as well. As for Tisca, she can’t stop raving about Nandita; seems like she had a fantastic time working with the firebrand actor-turned-director.

Staging hope
SOPHIE Choudhary has been keeping a low profile lately, even when it came to discussing her New Year’s Eve performance in Delhi. She says that she loves performing in the Capital since she has loads of friends there. But she has nevertheless refrained from talking too much about this time’s performance. She says, “I haven’t spoken too much about it because at a time like this celebrations are the last thing on everyone’s mind. Nonetheless, though we should never ever forget November 26 and all the innocent lives lost, we need to return to some level of normalcy That is the only way to defeat terror.”
