GADVASU staff and students get vaccinated against rabies
The veterinary staff is always at a risk of acquiring the rabies virus and prophylactic vaccination is thus recommended for professionals dealing with animals.

Keeping this in mind, GADVASU has initiated a programme where the teaching and non-teaching staff along with the students, who attend clinics and handle animals, will be regularly vaccinated. Dr Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, GADVASU inaugurated the vaccine administration programme on Monday, during which 64 students and clinical staff were given the first shot of the prophylactic vaccination schedule.

Dr Singh highlighted the importance of the anti-rabies vaccination for pets and said that pet owners should get their pets vaccinated regularly to prevent the spread of the disease.

Dr S Prabhakar, professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Clinical Services Complex said that the staff and interns, who were given the prophylactic vaccination last year, will be given the booster dose.
