Chandigarh Punjab Veterinarians will hold a protest rally in Bathinda on March 15 against the casual approach of the state government in giving promotions and placements in the Animal Husbandry Department. In a meeting of the Punjab State Veterinary Officers' Association's executive committee held here today under the chairmanship of Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma, it was said that more than 15 posts of deputy directors and about 65 of senior veterinary officer and assistant directors had been lying vacant since long. This has led to nepotism and insubordination in the department, Sharma said. The state executive expressed solidarity with the Rural Veterinary Officers who have been demanding regularisation of their services.
