Vidya Yeravdekar bags Young EDGE award

Pune Principal director of Symbiosis Vidya Yeravdekar was recently awarded the Young EDGE education award for education leadership 2009 by deputy chairman of central planning commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia. The award consists of a citation and trophy.The Emerging Directions in Global Education (EDGE) is a forum of top Universities from India and abroad. The issues like improving the quality of higher education, governance, human resource, cutting-edge technologies and best practices are discussed in the forum.

Edge 2008 was organised focusing on Internationalisation of Higher Education. Young EDGE education award is constituted to recognise and appreciate the work of young professionals in higher education focusing on leadership, innovation, creativity, technology, pedagogy, advocacy and socially relevant development initiatives.

The Search Committee consisting of young accomplished personalities unanimously selected Yerawadekar for her exemplary contribution in internationalisation of higher education. She has represented India on many international education forums.
