Vadodara The city was witness to a rally of vintage Bentley cars — all built in the 1920s — on Wednesday, when eight cars led by Prince Michael of Kent reached Laxmi Vilas Palace. The rally was taken out to raise money for Indian charities.

Members of the royal family in Vadodara, Ranjitsinh and Samarjitsinh Gaekwad and their wives, along with noted industrialist Chirayu Amin, received the guests

at the palace. The next stop was Surat.

The rally is being organised by the Benjafields Racing Club, an exclusive club of vintage Bentley owners, which has previously organised rallies in Sweden, Russia and America.

Prince Michael is a member of the British Royal Family, a grandchild of King George V and Queen Mary. However, he does not officially carry out royal duties on behalf of his cousin, Queen Elizabeth II. Instead, he has his own consultancy business.
