Visit of Russian students to PAU concludes

Ludhiana, February 5 A Group of six students from Moscow State University of Agro-Engineering (MSAU) is returning after a 15-day training programme at PAU, in agricultural engineering.

These students, namely Kapitonova Maria, Bazarsadaev Chingiz, Stepina Vera, Korolev Vyacheslav, Frolova Irina and Kozlova Anastasia, had come with their teachers Dr Malashenkov Konstantin, Vice-Rector of International Programme of the University and Dr Babchuk Dmitrij, Col and Head of the Auto-Branch Department of their university.

PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Manjit Singh Kang awarded them the completion certificates. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kang said that the world is becoming smaller, and the bi-lateral interaction of students and scientists help them to know each other professionally, and also get familiar with each others’ culture and heritage.

The Russian students shared their experiences here too. Kapitonova Maria said that she learnt some Punjabi expressions. Bazarsadaev Chingiz said that he was impressed with the cooperation and warmth shown by PAU students.

VK Sehgal, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering, spoke about the various activities held during the 15-day visit of the group. The coordinators for the visit of the Russian group were Dr Pritpal Singh Lubana, Dr Ashok Kumar and Dr Manjit Singh. They said that the students were taken to various places including farms of progressive growers, tractor manufacturers, the Golden Temple and Wagha border. Jagjit Singh Hara, a progressive farmer who was also present, thanked the Russian group.
