In a letter by Municipal Commissioner M K Das, he has categorically mentioned about the "delay" in the projects and asked the senior officials to look into it.

"In last two years development works worth Rs 1,100 crore are going on. In the coming days, the works are going to increase as number of development project reports have been sanctioned by the Centre. It has been informed to you time and again about the deadline while maintaining the quality as well," the letter reads.

Sources said that the municipal commissioner has given instructions to senior officials, like extra precautions in checking the delay in the project works which can be avoided through proper liaison with different departments.

It is also necessary to keep an eye on the quality of the works through third party inspection apart from physical inspection of the quality of the material used and workmanship in the projects.

Since most of the works are going on the roads, it is necessary to keep utmost care of the safety of the commuters.

Proper barricading, placing of sign boards are required to put at each and every place where the works are in progress.
