Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Administration) C M Makwana has issued a letter in this connection to Babu Pathan who is a driver with the civic body.
The letter says that Pathan used to lure people in the name of jobs in the corporation and extracted money from the applicants.
Complainant Narendra Upadhyay is one of the victims, who had paid Rs 5.50 lakh to the accused for his job. A formal complaint has already been registered at the Karelibag police station and investigation is on.
When Pathan’s name surfaced in the investigation, he was suspended from his duties.
