The Union Home Ministry, which received inputs in this regard from Bangladesh intelligence agencies, has written to the home secretaries of Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal, warning them to take steps against such dangerous nexus which has added a new dimension to the Maoist problem.
“In August 2009, Shailen Sarkar crossed over to India from Satkhira (Kholaroya), bordering North 24-Parganas district, and built up contacts with Maoist leader Kanchan. The contact between the two continued till Kanchan died in a police encounter,” the letter said.
“The Maoists are believed to be often sneaking into Bangladesh and undergoing training in the camps set up by the Sarkar faction. This is a dangerous aspect and you must keep a vigil on the borders and prevent Maoists from sneaking into Bangladesh,” read the letter.
Adding to the government’s headache is the fact that all the camps run by anti-India forces in Bangladesh receive some form of aid from the ISI.
Asked about the developments, Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen refused to comment.
Dhaka gives Bengal names of three terrorists
Based on a specific report from its counterpart in Bangladesh, the state Intelligence Bureau has got the names of three members of the Indian Mujahidin who have reportedly sneaked into the country through the Bangladesh-Bengal border in North 24 Paraganas. “We have received information that a Huji terrorist Belal has told the police there that three members of the Indian Mujahidin including Abdul Rezzaq, Hamidul Islam and Mofijul Islam have infiltrated into the country,” said a highly placed intelligence official.
“The trio put up in a guest house near the airport and stayed there for 15 days, we have learnt,” added the official. Additional Commissioner, STF Rajiv Kumar said: “We have conducted raids in all guesthouses in the area. However, nothing significant has been found.” A man named Ekramul Haque was, meanwhile, detained at the airport after his actions were found to be suspicious, said an airport official. This message is for the Bangladeshi Communist Party in general and to Shailen Sarkar in particular: Please look after the safety and security of Hindu minorities in B'desh, where the Hindus in particular, are being oppressed, discriminated, forced to change religion, etc. It may be noted that just after partition, the Hindus accounted for 30% of the total population of the then East Bengal and today, the Hindu population in B'desh is hardly 10% of the total population. Do you have any satisfactory answer to explain the drastic decrease in Hindu population in B'desh?? Certainly one answer is very clear and that is, the Hindus are UNSAFE in B'desh. For your information, the Muslim population in India just after partition was 9% of India's total population and today the Muslims account for 14% of India's total population. So wake up Sarkar & Company and protect the hapless Hindus in your Country, instead of wasting your time with Naxalites.
