Pune Dansingh Danu (23), a watchman at the Nyati Enclave society on NIBM road was beaten by three unidentified persons on motorbike on Tuesday when he asked them to make entry in the society register.

“When they tried to enter the society and I stopped them and asked them to make an entry. I also asked them whom did they want to meet. They got enraged and rode away then. But, while returning after meeting one Sanjay Ghule, a resident of the society, they abused me and beat me up severely with sticks,” said Danu. Danu’s face, head and back were injured.

Commander (retired) Pankaj Pandey, committee member and security in charge of the society said that the society has lodged a complaint with the Kondhwa police.

But, the police asked for a medical certificate of Danu from a government hospital, which couldn’t be arranged as he was taken to a nearby private hospital immediately after the incident since he was bleeding profusely. General (retired) V K Madhok, chairman of the society said that attempt to contact Ghule to find out the details of the youths who visited him proved futile as he refused to speak.
