Chandigarh, February 3 The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has decided to lodge an FIR against unidentified persons for causing damage to the main water supply line near Sector 19-20 dividing road. Though the MC staff has repaired the line, those responsible for damaging the pipe have not been identified so far.

Meanwhile, traffic was also disrupted for the second consecutive day, as V-3 road, dividing Sector 19 and 20 along Udyog Path, had been damaged by high water pressure. The water pipeline, however, has been repaired. The road repair work has yet not started.

Superintending Engineer (Public Health), S R Aggarwal, said those who damaged public property should be booked. “18-inch main water supply line has been damaged. We restored the water supply today afternoon,” he said. The water supply remained affected in sectors 26, 27, 19, 20, 28 and 29.

According to MC officials, the pipeline was damaged during the process of laying cable.
