Wear helmet, women riders told

Chandigarh As part of the 20th Road Safety Week, the Chandigarh Traffic Police organised a scooter rally of girls on Friday to promote wearing of helmets among women drivers. About 60 students from various women colleges and lady police officers of the Chandigarh Police participated in the rally. The participants also carried placards displaying road safety messages. 

The rally was flagged off from the Chandigarh Traffic Park in Sector 23 by Special Secretary Finance, Raji P Srivastava, and passed through various parts of the city before ending at the Sector 17 Plaza.

S P (Traffic) H S Doon and DSP J S Cheema were also present on the occasion. Doon administered the pledge to wear helmets among the participants.

Doon and Cheema had also participated in the panel discussion on All India Radio. A number of city residents called the radio show to get first-hand road safety tips.
