Whoever said the recession was affecting weddings in the city was not invited to the Hinduja-Macker nuptials. The wedding invitation accompanied by a huge platter of assorted mithai set the tone while the menu inclusive of Japanese, Italian, Swiss and Amritsari cuisines made the evening memorable. The Turf Club was decorated like a garden with a backdrop of orchids, chrysanthemums and roses. Ambika Hinduja dressed in Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, while Raman Macker in a black sherwani complemented her well.

The talk of the town was the guest list that exceeded 4,000 people and included a host of celebrities ranging from industrialists to politicians and entertainers. Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan came for a short while to bless the couple. Former Chief Minister’s Sushil Kumar Shinde and Vilasrao Deshmukh accompanied by son Riteish too made it to the do. Man of the moment Amar Singh was seen mingling with Bollywood celebrities. It was also a meeting point of industrialists — Anil Ambani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Atul Ruia and Adi Godrej. With Anu Malek, Bappi Lahiri and Sudesh Bhonsle present, it was a day out for the music fraternity as well.

Showstopper Govinda, in gold hoops, and his daughter Narmada made for a perfect photo-op.
