Some expected it, others were taken by surprise - here are the famous last words by the Nokia 15th Annual Star Screen Award winners

Some expected it, others were surprised — here are the famous last words by the Nokia 15th Annual Star Screen Award winners

Best Actor (M)

Hrithik Roshan (Jodhaa Akbar)

When Ashu (Ashutosh Gowarikar) first offered me the role, I wasn’t very convinced if I should do it. But when I discussed the project with Suzanne, she said this role will fetch me an award. So, this award is for her.

Best Actor (F)

Priyanka Chopra (Fashion)

I worked hard on Meghna Mathur’s character so I am really excited about this award. Fashion has had very few nominations and I dedicate this to Madhur Bhandarkar (director) who showed immense faith in me.

Best Popular Actor Award (M)

Akshay Kumar (Singh is Kinng)

I’m thrilled to hold this award. But I saw Ghajini a couple of days back. On my flight to Mumbai, I saw Singh is Kinng again. I felt Aamir (Khan) deserves this award. Aamir, I know you don’t accept awards, but please accept this one.

Best Popular Actor Award (F)

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Jodhaa Akbar)

I got married during the making of this film, so it’s very special for me. But I couldn’t have done this if it wasn’t for the cast, crew and director. So I’m accepting this award for them.

Best Actor Supporting Role (M)

Arjun Rampal (Rock On!!)

Screen Awards are very special to me because the day I first won a Screen Award was the day my daughter was born. But this is for my parents and for Mehr’s (Jessia, wife) parents, who are here to share this moment.

Best Actor Supporting Role (F)

Shahana Goswami (Rock On!!)

I’m numb with excitement — it’s one of those moments that make you blank and bring tears to your eyes. But I would not have been able to do it without support from the Rock On!! team, especially Arjun Rampal.

Most Promising Newcomer (M)

Farhan Akhtar (Rock On!!)

Thank you Abhishek (Kapoor, director); this is for you. Abhishek is the one who had confidence in me and insisted that I act and sing in the film that has now gone on to win so many awards.

Most Promising Newcomer (F)

Asin Thottumkal (Ghajini)

I would especially like to thank Murgadoss sir (director) for having cast me in the Tamil as well as Hindi version. I feel overwhelmed for having received so much appreciation so early in my career in Bollywood.
