The Special Crime Investigation Cell, looking into the case of the UT assistant sub-inspectors’ paper leak, is busy getting bank details of the Dahiyas and their accomplices. On Tuesday, they released photographs of the absconding Ramesh Dahiya, Constable Sunil Kumar and another man from Panchkula, Sandeep Gulia. Joginder Dahiya is already in custody.
Deputy Superintendent Satbir Singh, who holds the portfolio for the Special Crime Investigation Cell, said, “All accused have multiple bank accounts. We are targeting the transactions that took place during the recruitment examination. The picture will be clearer once we get these details.” It is also learnt that four teams have fanned out to raid possible hideouts at Haridwar, Sonepat, Rewari, Jind, New Delhi and various other parts of Haryana to nab the men.
Sources said both Joginder and Ramesh were floating in money. An investigating officer said, “Joginder’s wife works as a primary teacher but he didn’t do anything. His financial assets betray any known source of income. He has flats, houses, land and a healthy bank balance. Ramesh is 60. He doesn’t work but has substantial property in his village Preetpura.”
Another suspect Sandeep Gulia’s father has retired from the post of Deputy Director, Haryana Agriculture Department and the family lives in Panchkula. His father told the police that he was not in good terms with Sandeep and did not know where he was. Constable Sunil, who was posted in the Reserve force of the UT Police, is also absconding. Sunil went absent from duty when the media began to highlight the scam.
