They have also asked the Haryana Public Works Department officials to undertake the repair and maintenance of the road.
Chief Engineer S K Marvaha, who visited the area, instructed the Haryana Highways to expedite the repair and maintenance work of 2.2 kilometers road by the month end. The visit was made after the members of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industries Association took up the issue with the top officials of the ministry. The Chief Engineer said the ministry has already released Rs 25 lakhs for the repair of the road.
He said the existing width of the road is 7 meters, the Haryana National Highways wing will send a proposal for its widening up to 10 meters to the ministry in April. He assured the proposal will be dealt on priority basis.
He also asked the officials to send proposal for the construction of a new bridge near Gorakhanath. Later, he inspected the Baddi-Siswan-Chandigarh road and directed the official to complete the work by the end of June.

No doubt, The chief engneer has instructed the contractor as well as his staff to complete the road by June-2009 but till date that not been completed. The traffic cannot go go smoothly. Now what is the new excuse for the delay as the said road is pending for the last decade.
