Though Mithilesh Kumari did not lodge any complaint with the police, she approached the Bharatiya Dalit Panther which has assured action. Party’s district president Dhaniram Baudh said they are planning demonstrations from tomorrow.
All this trouble began over a pet dog, owned by a police inspector, after it died of food poisoning on Wednesday night.
Inspector Hardas Verma, a resident of Block No. 5 in Cantonment area, lodged a complaint against Mithilesh and her son Sikandar (16), accusing them of killing his Maxi, a Pomeranian.
Three weeks ago, Sikandar was bitten by Maxi after which he had to be hospitalised.
On Wednesday night, the dog fell sick and was rushed to a veterinary hospital, where doctors said he was suffering from food poisoning. On Thursday, Maxi died while undergoing treatment.
The same day, an angry Verma registered the complaint under Section 429 against Sikandar and Mithilesh who live in the same locality. He said the two fed his dog meat laced with poison.
Mithilesh was arrested immediately but secured bail later. Refuting Verma’s allegation, Mithilesh said she had been framed because the inspector wanted to harass her after she had refused to work in his house as a domestic help. She has demanded action against Verma.
Verma said he lodged the complaint after locals told him that Mithilesh and her son had given Maxi poisonous meat to eat. DIG Brijbhusan Sharma has ordered circle officer Akhlaq Ahmad to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
