Woman dies on Air-India flight from Jeddah

Mumbai A 64-year-old woman died on board an Air India flight on her way to Aurangabad from Jeddah.

According to the Mumbai International Airport spokesperson, the flight, AI 3438 from Jeddah to Aurangabad, was diverted to Mumbai late on Wednesday night after Sadaf-nisa Farull Rehman complained of acute chest pain while on board. She was travelling along with a relative and was brought to Mumbai airport Bay 65 where the airport doctor was summoned.

“The doctor received a call at 11.40 pm from an Air India official to attend to the passenger. He reached the spot at 11.50 pm and attended to the patient,” said a Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) spokesperson. “He found the patient motionless with no pulse and no heartbeat. Pupils were dilated and the body was cold,” he added. Rehman was declared dead on the spot.
