Ludhiana A 30-year-old woman was found dead with strangulation marks on the neck at her Focal point residence around 6 am on Thursday morning, said the police.

The deceased has been identified as one Khushboo and a case of murder has been registered against her husband who has been missing ever since the incident.

The neighbours of Khushboo heard the loud cries of her two small children, aged two and six years respectively, and rushed to the house only to find her dead, said a police officer.

The victim’s husband, Neetu Singh, originally from the Nalanda district of Bihar was employed with a shawl factory in the city.

ASI Jagroop Singh said, “Prima facie, it appears her husband might have murdered her. He has been missing since the incident and that’s why we have registered an FIR against him. It was apparently following an altercation that he killed his wife and fled. We are making all efforts to nab the culprit.”

The body of the deceased has been sent to the civil hospital for post mortem.
