Metro services were suspended for more than 24 minutes when 50-year-old Rekha Haldar tried to commit suicide at Chandni Chowk Metro station today morning. The driver of the train managed to apply the brakes on time and she survived the fall.
Haldar had jumped in front of the Tollygunge-bound train at 11.40 am. The alert driver, however, noticed her and Metro rail officials also managed to snap the power to save her from electrocution.
