Women’s body of Cong dissolved

Amritsar Newly-appointed Punjab State Mahila Congress president Ratna today announced the dissolution of the existing body. Talking to mediapersons, she said the step was taken in consultation with the high command in New Delhi, and the new body would be formed within 15 days.

She said, according to the directions of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the new body would have a maximum number of young women, and new faces would be given a priority.

She said in the coming Parliamentary elections, the high command has decided to field three women candidates in Punjab, and these are Ambika Soni, Santosh Choudhry and Preneet Kaur. Ratna said before polls, 50,000 young women would be enrolled in the Mahila Congress in Punjab.
