Workshop on Vivekananda’s teachings at IIM-C today

Kolkata, January 31 With a view to impart some tips on job satisfaction and human values, the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta will be conducting a workshop on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

The Management Centre for Human Values (MCHV) will conduct ‘Swami Vivekananda Memorial Workshop on Work ethics and job satisfaction’ at the institute on Friday.

C L Ramakrishnan, IPS, Director-General of Police will be anchoring the workshop.

The participants will be from diverse fields of activity, including principals and teachers, educational officers, vigilance officers, police officers, magistrates, administrators in educational institutes, public sector undertakings such as BPCL, ONGC, GRSE.

C Paduranga Bhatta, coordinator for MCHV, said the objective is to sensitise the people about the human values, ethics and corporate social responsibility.

“At present, the individuals and corporations are judged on the basis of two parameters — excellence and contribution. So in the longer run these workshops will prove a great advantage to the students and practising corporates,” he said.

The professor said these inputs are necessary for modern management education and are must in the curriculum of management education.
