The T5 new technology tube lights consumes around 28 watt as compared to the older tube lights which consumed 40 watt of electricity,” said Shriniwas Mudgerikar, chief spokesperson, CR. “The new tube lights would also give more light as it has reflectors.”

The CR, which has undertaken the job of replacing the old tube lights, has plans to fit 4,500 tube lights, of which 3555 has already been replaced. “We should soon complete the remaining work,” Mudgerikar added.
