Over 30 students from various Commonwealth countries are in the city to attend the workshop. The workshop will focus on peace-building in the world and various conflicts which have a global impact.
A query on why no representatives from Pakistan had come for the workshop generated a very 'politically correct' reply from Sharma. "I cannot speak on behalf of any nation. It will not be considered right," he said.
Speaking about the role of youth in bringing peace and handling conflicts, Sharma maintained their contribution was significant as youth are the catalysts of change.
"The main objective behind our programme is to overcome any kind of social conflict that exists in the society and to bring young leaders from different socio-economic backgrounds on a common platform," he averred. He also encouraged youngsters to come forward for the Centre's programme for youth workers, which is certified by the International Organisation of Labour.
