Youth killed in mishap, mob sets bus on fire

Junagadh, February 25 A Private luxury bus was set ablaze by a mob after it hit a motorcyclist near Vanthali town, some 14 km from Junagadh late on Sunday night. The youth, identified as Deven Hudka of Vanthali, died on the spot.

The police said the driver of the bus (registration no. GJ 14 T 109) was driving on the wrong side of the road, which resulted in the collision with the motorcyclist coming from the opposite direction.

The driver immediately fled the spot, abandoning the bus. A mob reportedly rushed from Vanthali and set the bus on fire destroying it completely, police sources said. The bus was owned and operated by Amreli-based Uday Travels.

On Monday afternoon, Bahadur Dangar of Uday Travels lodged a police complaint. However, no one was arrested till reports last came.

In a separate incident, another youth died after his motorcycle collided with a car in Dadar village near Visavadar town. The boy, identified as Kanji Dalit, died on the spot. The victim’s father, Bhana Dalit, has lodged a police complaint against the driver. The car was part of a wedding party passing by.
