New Delhi A 19-year-old boy was stabbed to death by four miscreants in Roop Nagar, North Delhi, on Monday.

The police said the reason behind the stabbing is not yet known but preliminary investigations suggest the boy was killed due to some personal enmity. An FIR has been lodged against unknown persons in the Roop Nagar police station and the police are looking for the accused.

The incident took place around 6 pm in the UA block of the Jawahar Nagar area. The deceased, identified as Akshay Dabla, a resident of Malkaganj, was walking towards Jawahar Nagar. He was a student of Class X in the Kamla Nagar-based S N Jain Public School.

The police said that at the chowk of UA block he had a heated argument with another boy, who has been reportedly identified as Praveen. Praveen was reportedly accompanied by three of his friends. “They got into a brawl, after which one of them took out a knife and stabbed Akshay. It’s not yet known whether Praveen stabbed him or whether it was one of his friends,” a senior police officer said.

Akshay was immediately rushed to the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. After a postmortem was carried out, his body was handed over to his family.

The suspects are reportedly also residents of the same area. Investigations are being carried out to ascertain the exact reason behind the stabbing.

“Residents have informed us that the two boys had been involved in a dispute for some months now. We are, however, investigating the matter and have detained Praveen’s brother. We are questioning him to get some leads about Praveen’s hideout,” the police said.

Akshay’s father, Rishi Dabla, manufactures dyes. “My son was wrongly killed. He was picked up by four youths in a Wagon R and they took him away and stabbed him,” Akshay’s mother, Anita Dabla, alleged.
