Singh, a co-founder of IYCN along with Deepa Gupta, Deepanjali, and Govind Singh, also reiterated the need for individual action towards mitigation climate change processes and the need to engage the youth in dialogue on the environment.
Tuhir, Class XI student from Frank Anthony Public School, said: “We need to inspire others by taking action.” He added that his school had taken the initiative of clearing litter in adjoining areas. “All we need is more action and fewer words,” he said. Coordinators were elated by the students’ enthusiasm. Samarjit Singh, a coordinator of IYCN, said, ‘We are here to focus on climate solutions .The youth has immense potential and we are giving them a platform to perform, for our planet.”
Singh added, “We have opted for music as a medium to inform the public about climate change and have joined hands with US band Solar Punch that uses solar-powered equipment for its performances.”
