Zarzaitine wins on opening day

Pune Zarzaitine, a five-year-old filly of the stables of trainer FA Abbas and being ridden by jockey Imran Chisty won the Khaalis Plate division–II (Class III) race on the opening day of the Mumbai racing seasonheld at the Mahalaxmi race course on Saturday. Palmedor, from the stables of Narendra Lagad and ridden by Sunny Chinoy came in second while Blue Daffodils again from the stables of Narendra Lagad and ridden by Nirmal Jodha came in third. In the second race, Blaze the track Plate division – I (Class V), much fancied Calypso Dancer of the SK Sunderji stables and ridden by F Norton registered his maiden win. Yamuna of the Faisal A Abbas stables, ridden by jockey Sunny Chinoy came in second place. Secret Talk from the stables of Dallas Todywalla came in third place.
