India on course on economic reform: FM
Finance minister P Chidambaram said that India has stayed firmly on the course of economic reforms. “We remain true to our declared principles and norms on economic reforms,” he reassured delegates to the fourth Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) here on Saturday.
Business confidence index at its highest: FM
The economy is on the growth track and the business confidence index is at its highest. ‘‘This is the greatest achievement of the 20-month United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government,” finance minister P Chidambaram said here on Sunday. The GDP growth rate this fiscal would be 7.5%, he added.
'India to meet fiscal, revenue deficits'
Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said India was on course to achieving the target of bringing down fiscal and revenue deficits as outlined in the budget 2005-06.
